SUNDAY, 03 AUGUST 2014, JEDDAH, SAUDI ARABIA – DARUTTAQWA has safely berthed at Jeddah Islamic Port after nine days of journey from Port of Valencia, Spain.

Throughout her transit to Jeddah, the officers and crew of DARUTTAQWA celebrated Eid Mubarak on Sunday, 28th July 2014 in the Mediterranean Sea. The celebration began with Takbir Raya and Sunnat Aidilfitri prayers, followed by Hari Raya Open Mess Celebrations at the Officers’ Wardroom, Senior Rates Mess and Junior Rates Mess.

DARUTTAQWA entered Suez Canal, Egypt at 0100 Local Time on the 31st July 2014, where the whole duration of transit time took 14 hours. The experience of transiting through the canal had provided excellent training value and experience as well as one that is memorable for the whole ship crew.

Whilst calling at Jeddah Islamic Port, the officers and crew of DARUTTAQWA had taken the opportunity to perform Umrah. Historical sites that had been visited included Al-Nabawi  and Masjid Quba in Medina as well as Al-Haram in Mecca.

DARUTTAQWA is scheduled to leave Jeddah Islamic Port on Thursday 7th August 2014 at 1000 Local Time, and is due for its next port Mumbai, India on Thursday 14 August 2014.
