Multi National Coordination Center, Muara. 2nd July 2014 – The Exercise Planning Conference (EPC) for Sembilang Exercise series 11/14 was held at the Multi National Coordination Centre (MNCC), Muara. Sembilang Exercise is an annual exercise, alternately hosted between Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and Royal Brunei Police Force Marine Police (RBPF MARPOL).Senior Superintendent Pengiran Mohamad bin Pengiran Hj Metali, Deputy Director of Operations of Royal Brunei Police Force Headquarters, who led the delegation from RBPF MARPOL, was received by, Lieutenant Colonel (L) Willie bin Padan, chairperson for Sembilang Exercise this year.
The aim of the EPC was to align the procedures used for the exercise and prepare for the execution of informative yet robust evolutions. This year, the exercise will involve the Fast Patrol Boat (FPB) and Fast Interceptor Boat (FIB) from the RBN and the Interceptor Boats from RBPF MARPOL.
Sembilang Exercise has become a platform to develop and conduct operational exercises between both units such as ship boarding and search & rescue. Other than the serials conducted, the annual exercise serves to strengthen the relationship between RBN and RBPF MARPOL through sport interactions. The EPC also highlighted the need to improve interoperability and capabilities of both units in countering ever growing threats in Brunei waters.
