BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Wednesday 11th June 2014 – In conjunction with the upcoming Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) 49th Anniversary, the RBN paid their respects in a tahlil ceremony this morning for the late parents of His Majesty the Sultan Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman. The ceremony was held at the Royal Mausoleum in Jalan Tutong.The event was attended by the RBN Commander, First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Hj Md Tamit, RBN Fleet Commander, Colm (L) Pengiran Norazmi bin Pengiran Hj Muhammad, Lt Col (L) Hj Yusuf bin Masron, senior officers, officers, military personnel RBN.
Reading of the Surah Yassin and tahlil in this ceremony was led by Ustaz Mas Ismandi bin Hassan, Ustaz Surau RBN. Tahlil reading at the Royal Mausoleum has been a tradition for the Royal Brunei Navy, done annually as part of the Navy Day celebration.
The Navy Day grand parade will be held this Friday, 13th June 2014 and Royal Brunei Navy Family Day scheduled to be on December, later this year.
