MUARA, Monday 25 September 2017 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) welcomed three People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy Fleet – CNS CHANG CHUN, CNS JING ZHOU and CNS CHAOHU, at the Muara Commercial Wharf. Brunei Darussalam is the 18th country they visited so far, where they started their voyage on 23rd April from Shanghai.
The ships were greeted upon arrival by officers and personnel of RBN, lead by Commander Spry bin Haji Serudi, Fleet Commander of RBN. The 3-day visit to Brunei Darussalam starts from 25 to 27 September 2017. The Head of Delegation onboard is Rear Admiral Shen Hao, Commander-In-Chief of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy Task Group 150 and the Deputy Commander of Eastern Theater Command of the PLA Navy, People’s Republic of China.
Rear Admiral Shen Hao also made a courtesy call to First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad, Commander of RBN. During the call, the Commander of RBN expressed his warm welcome for the goodwill visit and friendly bilateral defence relations between the two countries. Rear Admiral also acknowledged the relationship are favourable between the two countries. Both sides discussed to further strengthen bilateral relationship between two navies in the future.
The PLA Navy Fleet will conduct a Passage Exercise with KDB DARUSSALAM, which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 27th September 2017 and is set for its next port of call in SihanoukVille Autonomous Port, Cambodia.
