MUARA NAVAL BASE, Sunday, 11 September 2016 – In conjunction with Eid Al-Adha 1437H, the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) commemorated the occasion with firstly, a Malam Takbir event on Sunday, 11 September 2016 during the eve of 10 Zulhijjah 1437 at the RBN Surau.
The event commenced with the arrival of the Guest of Honour, Captain Hj Othman bin Hj Suhaili, Deputy Commander RBN prior to the mass Isya’ prayer. Soon after the congregates commenced to recite the ‘Eid Takbir’. Also in attendance were Senior Officers, Officers and Men of the RBN. Meanwhile in the morning after, the RBN Surau was once again host to mass the Eid Al-Adha Sunat Prayers. The Deputy Commander RBN was once again present to grace the event as Guest of Honour.
For three days in the month of Zulhijjah, Muslims across the globe celebrate another significant event in the Hijrah Calender. The Festival of Sacrifice as it is being commonly referred to, honours the sacrifice made by Prophet Ibrahim A.S together with his son Prophet Ismail A.S. ‘Eid Al-Adha’ is evidently unique in such that during the 10th, 11th and 12th, vast amounts of Korban are being carried out, as well as during the days that followed after.
