MUARA – Friday 11 APRIL 2014 – Today marked the end of Bilateral Exercise code named ‘HELANG LAUT 15B/14’ between Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and Tentara Nasional Indonesia Angkatan Laut (TNI AL) which was conducted from 07th April 2014 to 11th April 2014.Throughout the four days exercise,both navies have achieved the objectives of the exercise. Through this exercise, both navies have share and strengthen their naval professionalism in varies part of the exercise. Apart from warfare evolution at sea both navies also have opportunities to interact through friendly sport activities and culture visit to some interesting places in Brunei Darussalam.
During the closing ceremony, signing of Post Exercise Report was being witnessed between Major (L) Willie bin Padan, Commanding Officer of KDB DARULEHSAN as the Commander Task Group (CTG) 15.1 and Commander Oke Dwiyana, Commanding Officer of KRI CUK NYAK DIEN as the Deputy Commander Task Group (DCTG) 15.1.
The exercise was then officially deactivated by First Admiral Agus Heryana, Commanding Officer of Main Naval Base IV, who was representing TNI AL and the closing ceremony took place at Multinational Coordination Centre (MNCC), Royal Brunei Navy (RBN). Also present during the closing ceremony was Lieutenant Colonel (L) Yusof bin Masron, Fleet Commander of RBN, both officers and men from both navies. RBN and TNI AL share common values as well as traditions and looking forward to continue strengthening mutual bonds and professional relationship through the conduct of Ex Helang Laut.
