MUARA NAVAL BASE, Thursday, 20 October 2016 – The new Defence Attaché to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Malaysia accredited to Brunei Darussalam, Commander Lee Chang Hun, made an introductory call today to Commander of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), First Admiral Pg Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pg Haji Muhammad.
During the call, the Commander of RBN expressed his pleasure for the warm and friendly bilateral defence relations between the two countries dating back since 1 June 1984. Both sides have actively participated in defence exhibitions and multilateral exercises.
The call signifies the longstanding relationship between both countries. It marked another great opportunity to enhance bilateral relationships through planned activities for the future.
In addition to defence relations, Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Korea also shares extensive cooperation in economic and trade, agriculture, education, culture and youth, ICT and tourism.
