MUARA, Thursday, 9 November 2017 – Induction Programme Course for Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) Series 10 participants paid an introduction visit to the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) Base. The group consisted of twenty-nine (29) MINDEF civilian participants led by MINDEF Supervisor Officer, Awang Khairun bin Shabuddin.
Present to officiate the visit was Commander Khairil bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Chief of Staff RBN. The participants were given a brief presentation by Staff Officer Grade 3 Naval Research Cell, Lieutenant Muhammad Hakim bin Haji Basman, RBN on the roles of RBN and were also shown a short video illustrating RBN’s achievements during the last 50 years.
The highlight of the visit was the discussion session, which gave the participants opportunity to get further insights and a better understanding of the roles of RBN.
Following the presentation was a short tour to Jetty Bravo for a ship visit. They went on board KDB DARULAMAN to get a familiarisation tour which covered areas such as the Bridge, Flight Deck, Galley and Cabins. Overall, it was a brief experience of the working environment.
