MUARA NAVAL BASE, Friday 2 December 2016 – The Royal Brunei Navy held the RBN Commander’s Parade today with a parade comprised of 220 personnel of 4 contingent consisted of Senior Ranks, Fleet Personnel, Base Personnel, Female Personnel, RBN Ensign and RBN band at the Royal Brunei Navy parade square led by 702 Lieutenant Commander Rasman bin Puteh, RBN as the parade commander.
The Commander of RBN underscored that reaching the significant age of 51 years represents an important milestone. However an organisation is not only viewed by its longevity but more towards what it has achieved and contributed towards its current transformation. He also emphasised the importance of professionalism, welfare, security, and discipline remain as key focus areas that remain relevant to the organisation. These he added, need always to be improved and upheld by RBN. He also highlighted the theme of resource efficient force through wastage reduction and optimising output aligning to the mission and vision of Royal Brunei Navy to deliver a robust, responsive & resource efficient navy.
The Commander RBN also awarded 17 officers and other ranks who received Commanding Officer Certificates, Command Badge, Officer Of the Watch Certificates, Rule of the Road (ROR) Master, Coxswain Certificates, Gold Anchor Award and Bintang Harapan which is held annually.
Royal Brunei Navy reached a new milestone, when 890 Lieutenant Nazurah binti Haji Mahaleh, RBN became the first female officer in Royal Brunei Navy’s history to qualify to received the command badge. The badge was to recognise an officer who have the ability to command a ship. She is now in command of RBN Fast Interceptor Boat KDB MUSTAED.
The Commander of RBN, First Admiral Pg Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pg Haji Muhammad, RBN in his speech pledged the RBN’s undivided loyalty to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah Ibni AI-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
For the blessing of the event, Doa Selamat was recited by Ustaz Mohd Raffiudin bin Haji Mohd Ali, Religious Teacher Royal Brunei Navy.
First Admiral Pg Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi expressed his thanks and well-wishes to all members of the RBN including the TEMD and CMO staffs. The upcoming event to be celebrated is the RBN Family Day to be organised in Conjuction to the RBN 51st Anniversary.
