MUARA, 11-12 November 2017 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) personnel joined the Pesta Santai Muara 2017 which was organised at Muara Beach in conjunction with the Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s Accession to the Throne. The launch of the Pesta Santai Muara was officiated by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doktor Haji Awang Abu Bakar Bin Haji Apong, the Minister of Home Affairs.
During the festival, RBN were involved in career static display from Human Resource Centre, Naval Surface Action Group (NAVSAG) and Fire Fighting Damage Control (FFDC) department from Naval Training Centre (NTC). From this career static display, it will give the visitors opportunity to get a better understanding of the RBN career. RBN personnel were also took part in the cleaning campaign in the beach’s vicinity and coastal areas of Muara Beach.
There were also other activities being held such as booths selling local products, a 50 km cycling, fun sport activities, and stage performances. The two (2) day festival is organised by the Kampung Masjid Lama, Pekan Muara, Sabun and Pelumpong Consultative Councils in cooperation with the Ministry of Primary resources and Tourism and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
