PATTAYA, Sunday, 19 November 2017 – The signing of HELANG LAUT Standard Exercise Procedure (HELSEP) and Term of Reference (TOR) for Naval Working Group (NWG) between Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and Indonesian Navy (IDN) was successfully conducted on 19 November 2017.

The signing amendment of HELSEP and TOR for NWG was held at Dusit Thani Hotel, Pattaya witnessed by the Commander of RBN, First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Pengiran Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad, RBN and Rear Admiral Aan Kurnia, IDN in which the signing was between Commander Khairil bin Haji Abdul Rahman, RBN Chief of Staff, representing RBN and First Admiral Mintoro Yulianto, Vice Assistant Chief of Indonesian Navy for Operation to represent IDN.

The amendment of HELSEP is made upon mutual agreement between RBN and IDN. This HELSEP needs to be aligned and adapt to the current operational requirement. Both navies have reviewed and have agreed upon the changes, refraining from the 1st revised HELSAP. HELSEP is to be used as a guideline in the conduct of HELANG LAUT Series of exercise in the future.

While the reviewed of TOR for NWG was discussed during the 3rd NWG held in Surabaya, Indonesia. This TOR is a reference in the conduct of NWG meeting and the agenda for discussion are also spelled out.
