MUARA, Monday, 27 November 2017 – The Acting Commander of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), Captain Hj Othman bin Hj Suhaili@Suhaily, RBN received a courtesy call from Captain Rahul Shankar, Commanding Officer of Indian Navy Ship (INS) SATPURA at RBN Headquarters.
During the call, the Acting Commander of RBN expressed his warm welcome for the goodwill visit of INS SATPURA and friendly defence relations between the two countries.
Both sides expressed their desire to further develop existing bilateral relationship between the two navies through cooperation. Acting RBN Commander also expressed appreciation to Indian Navy for the participation during the International Fleet Review (IFR) in Brunei Darussalam participated by INS AIRAVAT in 2011. Both sides also discussed to further strengthen bilateral relationship between two navies in the future.
This evening, the Indian Navy hosted a reception onboard INS SATPURA at the Muara Port. Present as Guest of Honour was First Admiral Pg Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pg Haji Muhammad, Commander of Royal Brunei Navy.
Also present at the event was the Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Technology and Development), and senior officials representing the Ministry of Defence and the RBAF.
Guests were entertained by video presentation and band performance by the Indian Navy. The Indian Navy will also conduct a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with KDB DARUSSALAM before setting sail to her next port of call in Port Klang, Malaysia.
