PANGKALAN TENTERA LAUT MUARA, Juma’at, 17 Oktober 2025 – Dua kapal Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei (TLDB), KDB DARULAMAN dan KDB BERKAT, telah berlepas baru-baru ini ke Sepanggar, Kota Kinabalu untuk menyertai Eksesais Dua Hala HORNBILL 30/25 bersama Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia (TLDM) yang akan berlangsung dari 19 hingga 24 Oktober 2025 bersama Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia (TLDM).
Hadir bagi Majlis Perlepasan kapal-kapal tersebut ialah Kepten Khairil bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Timbalan Pemerintah TLDB yang juga merangkap sebagai Pemangku Pemerintah Armada TLDB. Turut hadir semasa majlis tersebut ialah Badan Eksekutif TLDB, Pegawai-Pegawai Kanan, Pegawai dan Anggota TLDB serta ahli keluarga yang hadir bagi memberikan sokongan dan doa selamat kepada warga kapal yang terlibat dalam penugasan ini.
Eksesais Dua Hala HORNBILL merupakan satu latihan yang signifikan dalam memperkukuhkan hubungan pertahanan dan kerjasama operasi maritim antara TLDB dan TLDM. Melalui eksesais ini, kedua-dua angkatan laut dapat meningkatkan keupayaan interoperabiliti dan persefahaman bersama dalam melaksanakan operasi maritim. Ia juga mencerminkan hubungan erat dan persahabatan kukuh yang telah lama terjalin antara kedua-dua negara berjiran, Brunei Darussalam dan Malaysia.

KDB DARULAMAN AND KDB BERKAT DEPLOYED TO KOTA KINABALU FOR EXERCISE HORNBILL 30/25
MUARA NAVAL BASE, Friday, 17 October 2025 – Two Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) ships, KDB DARULAMAN and KDB BERKAT, recently departed for deployment to Sepanggar, Kota Kinabalu to participate in Exercise HORNBILL 30/25, a bilateral exercise with the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) which will be held from 19 to 24 October 2025 together with the Royal Malaysian Navy.
Present at the departure ceremony was Captain Khairil bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Deputy Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy also filling in as the Acting Fleet Commander RBN. Also in attendance were RBN Executive Committee members, senior officers, officers and personnel of the RBN, as well as family members who gathered to offer their support and prayers for the crews embarking on this deployment.
Exercise HORNBILL is a significant bilateral exercise that serves to strengthen defence relations and maritime operational cooperation between the RBN and RMN. Through this exercise, both navies aim to enhance interoperability, tactical efficiency, and mutual understanding in conducting combined maritime operations. It also reflects the longstanding close friendship and strong bond that have been well established between the two neighbouring nations, Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia.
