ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY CELEBRATES FEMALE RETIREES

Telanai, Saturday, May 4th, 2024 - A cheerful celebration unfolded as ten retired Female Personnel of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) were honored in a  ceremony, the 'Majlis Ramah Mesra Askar Wanita Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei (AW TLDB) Tahun 2023,' held at Dewan Telanai, Tingkat 1, Kafe Rasa Ceria, Telanai Avenue. This ceremony stood as a testament to the unwavering devotion and sacrifices made by these retirees throughout their tenure in the Royal Brunei Navy.

The event commenced with the esteemed presence of Commander Surainawati binti Haji Abd Samat, RBN the Guest of Honor, who was warmly welcomed by the event's Chairman, Warrant Officer 2 Haslinawati binti Abd Rahman, RBN alongside other distinguished committee members. The retirees that were celebrated are PW2 (B) Saribulan binti Hj Salleh, RBN, PW2 (B) Siti Noorhaini binti Ali Hassan, RBN, LsK (B) Noralini binti Damit, RBN, PW2 (B) Emy Suriana binti Abd Hamid, RBN, Bint (B) Nur Aizam binti Abd Samah, RBN, BK (B) Norzaimah binti Haji Nordin, RBN, Bint (B) Eddywati binti Awang Aslee, RBN, Bint (B) Ridayati binti Haji Awang Lakim, RBN, LsK (B) Rosidah binti Mohammad, RBN and LsM (B) Alma Nurulizan binti Sulaiman. 

The proceedings commenced with a group photo followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Able Rate Nur Adlin Fadhlina binti Nor Muhammadi, start up the evening. Subsequently, the Chairman delivered a stirring speech, emphasizing the importance of upholding the esteemed legacy of AW TLDB. She imparted valuable advice, particularly to those embarking on their journey within the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, stressing the significance of discipline and respect towards superiors and peers alike. She reminded attendees that as time passes, new recruits will eventually take the reins, underscoring the cyclical nature of service within the organization. Gratitude was also extended to all committee members for their dedicated efforts in organizing this cherished event, which, due to the challenges posed by the pandemic, had become a rare occurrence.

The Appreciation Night culminated with the presentation of tokens of gratitude to the former warrant officers and senior non-commissioned officers of the Royal Brunei Navy, symbolizing the profound appreciation for their contributions. Additionally, a token of appreciation was presented to the esteemed Guest of Honor by the Chairman, encapsulating the collective gratitude and respect of all present.
