6TH NAVAL WORKING GROUP BETWEEN ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY AND INDONESIAN NAVY

MUARA, Monday, 12 April 2021 – The 6th Naval Working Group (NWG) between Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and Indonesian Navy (IDN) was held virtually at the Multi-National Coordination Center (MNCC). This year series of NWG was hosted by RBN.

The conference was chaired by Commander Sonny Iskandar bin Rasani, RBN, the RBN Chief of Staff, as the Head of Delegation. Representing as IDN Head of Delegation was Captain Bambang Dharmawan, Senior Officer for Strategic Operation and Diplomacy. In attendance were also Colonel (ARH) Zaenul Ariffin, Defence Attache from Republic of Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam, Lieutenant Colonel Pengiran Aeddie Masjaffrie bin Pengiran Haji Md Jaafar, Defence Attache from Brunei Darussalam to Republic of Indonesia, RBN and IDN officers.

During the video conference, discussions were focused on issues of mutual interest and opportunities to build capacity through various engagement opportunities in exercise, courses and trainings as well as interactions and future collaboration activities between personnel of the two navies in addition to strengthening the bilateral relationship between both navies.

The 7th NWG will be hosted next year by IDN.
