KDB DARUSSALAM CONDUCTS PASSEX WITH HMCS CALGARY

MUARA, Sunday, 28 March 2021 – KDB DARUSSALAM has successfully conducted Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with HMCS CALGARY upon her transit to continue on her journey west after brief port visit to Brunei Darussalam. KDB DARUSSALAM was honoured to have Her Excellency Jeanette Stovel, the High Commissioner of Canada in Brunei Darussalam who was accompanied by Commander Khairil bin Abdul Rahman, Fleet Commander RBN. KDB DARUSSALAM escorted HMCS CALGARY through Brunei territorial waters while successfully conducting the PASSEX in which includes serials such as flag hoist, ship manouevring exercises and sail past.

The naval ship to ship interaction was a significant milestone for both countries as the last interaction between RBN and RCN was 8 years ago in 2013, when HMCS ALGONQUIN and HMCS PROTECTEUR made a port visit to Brunei Darussalam. Such exercises continue to strengthen the bilateral relationship between both countries and will further ensure interoperability between RBN and RCN through naval experience sharings and interactions.
