INTRODUCTORY CALL TO COMMANDER OF ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY FROM THE DEFENSE AND ARMED FORCES ATTACHÉ REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES TO BRUNEI DARUSSALAM

MUARA, Wednesday, 3 February 2021 – First Admiral Spry bin Haji Serudi @ Haji Seruji, Commander of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) receives an introductory call from Colonel Angelo Gerard P Ariles, the Defence and Armed Forces Attaché of the Republic of the Philippines to Brunei Darussalam today at RBN Headquarters.

Also in attendance were the RBN Chief of Staff, Staff Officer to RBN Commander and Former Defence and Armed Forces Attaché of the Republic of the Philippine to Brunei Darussalam, Colonel Jose Ricky A. Lanoig.

During the call, Commander RBN extends his congratulatory wishes to Colonel Angelo Gerard P Ariles for resuming the appointment of Defence and Armed Forces Attaché of the Philippines to Brunei Darussalam. Commander RBN also expresses his sentiments towards the success of executing 8th Series of bilateral exercise between RBN and Philippine Navy (PN) code-named 'Exercise SEAGULL'. Exercise SEAGULL has proven to be the catalyst for both navies to strengthen professional relations and enhance interoperability at sea.

Colonel Angelo also discuss future planning for PN and RBN to explore Navy-to-Navy Staff Talks to further deepens bilateral ties between both navies. 

Colonel Angelo Gerard P Ariles, the first naval officer to be appointed as the Defence and Armed Forces Attaché of the Republic of the Philippines to Brunei Darussalam, resumes his predecessor, Colonel Jose Ricky A. Laniog since 1 December 2020.
