BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Wednesday, 17 May 2023 – A recital of Surah Yassin and Tahlil ceremony for the departed members of the royal family; Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam, Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman and Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji 'Abdul 'Azim ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah was held this morning by Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) in commemoration of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces' 62nd Anniversary.
The religious ceremony was held at the Royal Mausoleum was intended to seek mercy and blessings from Allah Subhannahu Wata'ala upon the departed members of the royal family and was attended by Acting Commander RBN, Captain Haji Mohamad Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin, officers and ratings of the RBN. Leading the recitation of Surah Yassin and tahlil was Captain Abdul Mu'iz Azizi bin Zulkifli, Religious Officer from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Religious Directorate.
The recitation of Surah Yassin and Tahlil at the Royal Mausoleum has been a tradition for the RBN. Such religious practice demonstrates our continuous devotion to Allah Subhannahu Wata'ala and to maintain our determination to the national philosophy of Malay Islamic Monarchy.
