BUKIT SHAHBANDAR RECREATIONAL PARK,
Thursday, 24 November 2022 – The Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Cross Country Competition 2022 was held at Bukit Shahbandar Recreational Park. More than 200 participants comprised of officers and other ranks of the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF), Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF), Joint Force Headquarters Royal Brunei Armed Forces (JFHQ RBAF) participated in the event.
Present as the guests of honour was Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of RBAF for the Male RBAF cross country competition championship and Colonel Hajah Suriyati binti Haji Junaidi, Head of the RBAF Inspectorate Unit for the female RBAF cross country competition championship. Also present were the Services Commanders, and military directors and other RBAF personnel.
Participants competed over four (4) categories namely, Male and Female open Category By Age Groups and the Male and Female Overall Team Category testing their endurance while navigating high grounds, roads and the challenging terrain of the Bukit Shahbandar Recreational Park.
The overall champion was Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) while Joint Force Headquarters Royal Brunei Armed Forces (JFHQ RBAF) and Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) were in second and third place respectively. Able Rate Mohd Abdul Azim @ Mohd Nordy Hafizi bin Haji Sijim of RBN's Base Defence achieved top 20 in the event.
The RBAF Cross Country Championship 2022 is an annual sport event that aims to encourage the spirit of sportsmanship among the RBAF units, and to inculcate a healthier lifestyle in the RBAF.
