BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Sunday, 31 July 2022 – Brunei Darussalam's national flag that was hoisted on 1 July 2022 has been lowered down at the vicinity of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex marking the conclusion of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam 76th birthday celebration.
The lowering of the giant national flag was officiated by Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw, Deputy Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister's Office. The ceremony was also attended by the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Service Commanders.
The national flag was lowered by 20 personnel from the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) led by Lieutenant Junior Grade Abdul Munim bin Haji Samli, RBN. The entire proceeding was accompanied by the National Anthem, 'Allah Peliharakan Sultan' and concluded with the recitation of Doa Selamat.
