– Cross Country Championship organized by Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) was held this morning starting and finishing at the Mini Stadium, Naval Training Centre. The championship was divided into 2 categories; a Teams category running a 12 kilometre-track and an Open category running the 8 kilometre-track.
The championship was organized to search for potential Cross Country athletes to represent RBN in the upcoming Royal Brunei Armed Forces Cross Country championship and to further entrench a healthy and active lifestyle into the daily lives of RBN personnel.
For RBN Male Cross Country championship Teams category, 'Fleet Team A' emerged as the winner whereas 'Base Team A' achieved second with 'Base Team B' achieving third place.
Finishing in first place for the RBN Male Cross Country championship Open category was Able Rate Md Abd Azim@Mohd Nordy Hafizi bin Haji Sijim whilst second place went to Ordinary Rate Md Muizzuddin bin Haji Zainuddin, RBN and Able Rate Md Faaruuq Al Muwaffaq bin Hj Marsidi, RBN gained third place. Participants in this category also had the opportunity to grab prizes for fourth to tenth place.
The prizes were presented by Captain Haji Mohammad Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin, RBN, Acting Commander of RBN, present as Guest of Honor. Also present to witness the event were Senior RBN Officers, officers and personnel from RRN.
