BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Friday, 1 July 2022 – The National Flag hoisting ceremony to mark the start of nationwide celebrations for His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam 76th birthday was held at the vicinity of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex in the capital today.
Twenty personnel from the Royal Brunei Navy, led by Lieutenant Junior Grade Amirul Shahdani bin Jasni, RBN, marched into the ceremonial ground where they received the National Flag from the Guest of Honour, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs.
Attending the ceremony representing Yang Mulia Major General Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces, was Yang Mulia Brigadier General Saifulrizal bin Abdul Latif, Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Force. Also present were Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, Service Commanders and Joint Force Commander.
The National Flag hoisting ceremony also marks the beginning for the citizens and residents of Brunei Darussalam to fly the Bruneian flag at their residences, public and private premises nationwide in the spirit of patriotism and to strengthen the love for the monarchy and country.
The lowering of the giant national flag will be held at the end of this month.
