RBN PARTICIPATES IN MALAM MUNAJAT ORGANISED BY THE MINISTRY OF RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS

MUARA, Saturday, 22 January 2022 – A Malam Munajat ceremony organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs in collaboration with the Royal Brunei Armed Forces' Religious Directorate (JAMA'AT) was held via video teleconference held simultaneously throughout the country. The focal point for the Ministry of Defence and RBAF was at Surau Ad-Difa, Bolkiah Garrison where the Guest of Honour was Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi Bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Second Minister of Defence leading the attendance for the Ministry of Defence and the RBAF from their respective surau via video teleconference.

Attending from various locations, the Malam Munajat was also participated by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office; Yang Mulia Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs; and Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Deputy Minister Finance and Economy (Fiscal).

The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) participated in the virtual Malam Munajat from Surau Al-huda at the Muara Naval Base, RBN. In attendance was First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Spry bin Hj Serudi @ Hj Seruji, RBN Commander, senior officers and personnel of the RBN.

The function began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah led by Yang Berhormat Minister of Defence II, followed by the recitation of Surah Yaasin. The function continued with a tazkirah delivered by Captain Mohammad Ayza Azrine bin Ayahani from the RBAF Religious Directorate and the recitation of Asmaul Husna by the RBAF military recruits led by Lieutenant Shaikh Shahrul Azhar bin Ahmad from the RBAF Religious Directorate.

Malam Munajat is a weekly activity organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs in the spiritual effort to seek protection from Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala from the adversities of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
