COMMANDER ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY ATTENDS THE 4th INTERNATIONAL MARITIME SECURITY SYMPOSIUM 2021 VIRTUALLY

MUARA, Tuesday, 24 August 2021 – First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Spry bin Haji Serudi @ Haji Seruji, the Commander of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), attended the 4th International Maritime Security Symposium (4th IMSS) virtually at RBN Headquarters in Muara.

Carrying this year's theme, "International Maritime Security Cooperation for Security, Peace and Prosperity", the 4th IMSS 2021 was officially opened by Admiral Yudo Margono, Chief of Staff Indonesian Navy at the Auditorium Yos Sudarso Seskoal, Jakarta on 23 August. The 4th IMSS, held both virtually and physically, was hosted by the Indonesian Navy that aims to explore the latest maritime trends and challenges as well as to build framework for effective multilateral maritime security cooperation in the region.

During the symposium, Lt Gen Muhammad Herindra, Deputy Minister of Defence, also delivered a keynote address and opening statement of 4th IMSS on behalf of Indonesia's Minister of Defence. The symposium was attended by Navy Chiefs from 54 countries, including international delegations and international maritime organisations.
