ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY PARTICIPATED IN THE WORKING GROUP MEETING ON THE ASEAN NAVY TRAINING EXPERIENCE EXCHANGE PROGRAM (ANTEEP)

MUARA, Wednesday, 28 April 2021 – The Royal Brunei Navy today participated in the Working Group Meeting on the ASEAN Navy Training Experience Exchange Program (ANTEEP), organized by the Viet Nam's People Navy (VPN), conducted virtually. Representing RBN was the Commandant of Naval Training, Commander Willie @ Mathias bin Padan.

ANTEEP is an initiative proposed by Viet Nam People's Navy (VPN) in creating a platform for naval trainers and specialists to convene with ASEAN Navy counterparts in enabling the exchange of experience and expertise as a means to enhance collaboration and interoperability, as well as build and strengthen confidence and trust. Such cohesiveness is deemed a necessity in improving cohesiveness and responsiveness especially in tackling regional maritime security challenges effectively.

ANTEEP is a new initiative proposed by Viet Nam People's Navy (VPN), following after their ASEAN chairmanship last year in 2020. The initiative is the first of its kind and will be held annually by the previous host country.
