MUARA NAVAL BASE, Friday, 17 March 2023 – 38 Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) personnel completed their course which was held over 8 intensive weeks including 5 days of Exercise named
Eksesais Panglima. The closing ceremony was officiated by the Guest of Honour, Lieutenant Commander Wan Abdul Naafi bin Metussin, RBN, Staff Officer Grade 2 Intelligence, RBN HQ.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and was followed by a speech from the course participants' representative, Lieutenant Junior Grade Nabilah binti Md Yanie, RBN. The highlight of the event was the award presentations which included the Overall Best Performance for the officer category which was awarded to Lieutenant Junior Grade Abdul Wafi bin Adanan, RBN and Best Academic award – Officer Category awarded to Lieutenant Junior Grade Nabilah binti Md Yanie, RBN. For the Other Rank's category, Overall Best Performance was awarded to Ordinary Rate Md Nur Aiman bin Aliman, RBN whereas Best Academic was awarded to Ordinary Rate Muhammad Ishyra Asmin bin Mohd Jabidi, RBN. The event continued with Guest of Honor's closing remarks.
Throughout the course, the participants were exposed to the theories and practical exercises including Orders for Map board, Map reading, roles and responsibilities of a Platoon Commander, a Section Commander and a Riflemen. Overall, participants were equipped with peace-time and in-conflict knowledge where the former emphasize the importance of a high safety benchmark and base security.
