MUARA, Wednesday, 21 June 2022 – The Exercise Planning Conference (EPC) for Exercise SEAGULL 09/22 was conducted via Video Teleconference (VTC) at Bendahara Sakam Meeting Room, Naval Training Centre (NTC), Muara. The EPC was hosted by the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) as this year's exercise coordinator with the aim of coordinating and planning activities for the exercise between the RBN and the Philippine Navy (PN) that will be held tentatively in November this year. The conference was also aimed to ensure planned activities are mutually beneficial to both navies in terms of training value, bilateral relations, defence diplomacy, and improving interoperability.
The EPC was co-chaired by Commander Pg Mohd Faren bin Pg Mohd Noor, RBN, Commanding Officer of KDB DARUSSALAM, as RBN's Head of Delegation and Captain Nerelito P. Martinez, PN, Philippine Navy Head Planner as PN's Head of Delegation. Also, in attendance on the RBN side were the Executive Officer of KDB DARUSSALAM and other fleet officers.
