ROYAL BRUNE NAVY CELEBRATES 56TH ANNIVERSARY

MUARA, Monday, 14 June 2021 – Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) commemorates its 56th Anniversary today with a Parade Ceremony held at the RBN Parade Square led by Lieutenant Commander Mohamad Husaini bin Haji Mohamad Sofian, RBN. Present as the Guest of Honour was First Admiral Spry bin Haji Serudi @ Seruji, Commander of RBN.

In his speech, Commander of RBN highlighted the various accomplishments and evolutions RBN has experienced since its inception 56 years ago. RBN has remained relevant with the existing challenges and threats in the maritime security domain through the acquisition of and development of capabilities and new assets, all of which will serve in fulfilling our roles and responsibilities as stipulated in the Defence White Paper 2021. The Commander of RBN also pointed out that apart from modernization, a true testament of an organization's maturity lies in the quality and professionalism of its human resource.

The event continues with awards and certificates presentation awards to officers and personnel whom were recognized for their personal achievements based on professionalism, leadership and work contributions towards RBN. Sauh Emas Award was given to 12830 Warrant Officer 2 Fauzillah Rahime bin Hj Awang Damit and Bintang Harapan was awarded to 18603 Leading Hand Mohammad Ikhrimah bin Zulkefli. For Jurutera Terbaik Award was given to 12981 Warrant Officer 2 Irwan bin Haji Ludin. Meanwhile, the Top IFA Award for Men were awarded to 784 Commander Malek Fadillah bin Dato Juragan Laila Diraja Dato Seri Pahlawan Hj Kefli, 1007 Lt Awangku Faizul Azmizan bin Pengiran Rajalli and 16603 Chief Petty Officer Khairol Anwar bin Haji Ali Hassan. For the Top IFA Award for Women were given to 1289 Lieutenant Junior Grade Nabilah binti Yanie, 1305 Lieutenant Junior Grade Wan Syamimi Alya'a Filzah binti Lieutenat Colonel (R) Zulkiflee, 21671 Leading Hand Nurul Hazimah binti Hamzah and 21894 Noorsuriani binti Rusmah. The Top IFA Awards were awarded to officers and personnel who have consistently excelled in their Individual Fitness Assessments.

The event was by then blessed with a recitation of Doa Selamat by Ustaz Mas Ismandi bin Hassan, RBN Religious Teacher. The anniversary ceremony ends with Anniversary Cake Cutting Ceremony commemorating the RBN's 56th Anniversary at Dewan Samudera and Warrant Officer, Chief Petty Officer and Petty Officer Mess, RBN.
